HEADLINES: June 8, 2015:
Tropical Storm Blanca rolled into the Baja California Peninsula on Monday, with rains and high winds expected to lash a wide area even as the system continued to lose strength.
Only recently a Category 4 hurricane with winds of 130 mph (215 kph), Blanca had faded to a tropical storm by the time it made landfall. It was downgraded to a tropical depression with maximum sustained winds of 35 mph (55 kph) in the afternoon, and was expected to be a remnant low by Tuesday.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center forecast that rain associated with the storm would begin to fall in the U.S. Southwest later Monday.
Tropical storm warnings and watches were lifted for the entire peninsula, including its southern tip, where the resort region of Los Cabos was battered by Hurricane Odile last September. Local media said there were some flooded streets and scattered power outages in Los Cabos, but there were no immediate reports of major damage.

Blanca is the earliest tropical cyclone on record to make landfall on the peninsula, according to the Hurricane Center. The storm’s center was about 60 miles (95 kilometers) southwest of Santa Rosalia in the afternoon, heading north-northwest at 17 mph (28 kph).

So all is good here in Cabo and today is nice and sunny. The port is open and we are back to normal, really just a 2 day set back.

Jc Sportfishing Charters is a family owned and operated business and has been fishing in Cabo San Lucas for the past 18 years. Jerry, explains that his charter business is geared more for families and novice anglers, making sure everyone who charters a boat with him have a great time and lots of fun. We welcome families, and groups. We want everyone who fishes with us to take all the sites in and have a memorable experience. This is what is most important to us. We have and do a few tournaments each year and can cater to fisherman who might be interested in tournament fishing. Well lets get on with the fishing report for this past week.
WEATHER: Well the weather for the last 4 or 5 days have kinda had things in an uproar since we didn’t know what this storm was going to do and luckily we didn’t get much from it but a little wind and rain. The weather right now is really nice and we should be tipping the scales at around 90 today. Its calm out and its beautiful so get on down to Cabo now.
WATER: Pretty much the same as last week as far as the water temps go.The water right outside Cabo Harbor isright around 72 to 74 degrees and actually pretty nice. Pacific side up and around the Finger Baja where it was dipping down to 69 degrees is still cold up there and it is like night and day compared to the Pacific side and the Cortez side.
This link which will show you water temperatures for the southern half of Baja.  http://www.tempbreak.com/index.php?&cwregion=cb
BILLFISH: We has some nice Blue Marlin landed this past week and 6 Blues from 250lbs to 300lbs were caught. We know the Blue Marlin season is just around the corner and as the weeks get into summer we expect lots more Blues and Blacks. There were still good numbers of Striped Marlin at the 1150 spot this past week also, so when it comes to Marlin fishing it hasn’t been bad.
SHARK FISHING: Haven’t heard of any Sharks this week, not like last week.
DORADO: The fishing for Dorado had slowed way down at the first part of the week and later in the week got pretty good until the storm came along and shut it down.
WAHOO: Very few this week caught.
TUNA: A few small ones this week but they pretty much shut down.
INSHORE: Inshore action has also been slow due to storm this past week as only a few Rooster Fish were landed. Some Jack Crevail and Skip Jack are being caught also right now but we will see this coming week.
