Cabo San Lucas Rebounds after the visit from Tropical Storm Lidia yesterday.

Photos from a brief visit to downtown Cabo San Lucas this afternoon.

The resiliency of the Mexican people was again demonstrated today during my visit to the downtown area of Cabo San Lucas today. From my office location I could only visit the the downtown area because part of Tourist Corridor near downtown Cabo was badly damaged by TS Lidia and I could not turn east northeast toward San Jose del Cabo. I proceeded to the downtown area near the marina on Lazaro Cardenas. Workers were everywhere removing trash and cleaning the streets and sidewalks as best they could. I pulled to the side of the road and quickly got stuck in the mud. Thankfully two Mexican workers were kind enough to help me get un-stuck and proceed on my quick tour of the town.

There were local Municipal Police and Federal Police patrolling on foot and in vehicles making sure that order was kept and the local and tourist population was kept safe. Security personnel were on duty in many of the locations that I visited.

Along the Medano Beach area there was a lot of damage done by the storm, but again workers were hard at cleaning up the beach areas and beginning the process of repairing or rebuilding the damage caused by the rough wave action caused by the storm. My compliments to the owners and workers for starting the repair and rebuilding process.
