After a year and a half of suspension derived from the Covid-19 pandemic. The reactivation of the port of Cabo San Lucas is reaching very high levels since August of this year.
Jorge Méndez Anderson, manager of the Integral Port Administration (API) of CSL reported that the reactivation of cruise tourism has been successful that five arrivals have been confirmed for next December 24, an unseen situation since 2009 and in total more than 30 cruises are expected for the last month of the year.
“Well for the month of December we have a total of 34 cruises, but the good news for the port is that Santa Claus is going to bring us five cruises on December 24, a quintuple arrival that had not occurred more than 10 years ago, for which we are very happy” indicated Méndez Anderson, remarking that this will be an incredibly note-worthy sight of Los Cabos bay, he also made a call to all photographers, amateurs, or professionals to participate in a photography contest, focusing on the importance of preserving the image of the simultaneous arrival of 5 ships. The winners will receive different prizes.
“Take photos that day and we are going to award the best photo where the five cruise ships appear, […] we want a new picture, those photos that are so important remain for the history of the port” added the API manager at CSL.
The 5 ships that arrive on Christmas Eve are Carnival Miracle, The World, Majestic Princess, Norwegian Bliss, and Ruby Princess; which gives an approximate total of 8 thousand cruise passengers and a direct economic benefit for the port of almost 1 million dollars.
