Bisbee’s Black & Blue came to an end this Sunday with an Award Ceremony in the dock El Espigón, Awarding the Mexican Team Braniff a prize of 1.1 million dollars.
This year saw the biggest prize pool in the history of the competition reaching almost 10 million dollars distributed in the different categories. The biggest winners were the Mexican Team Braniff, with a 489 lbs Blue Marlin caught on the first day of the competition, the team from Mexico City claimed a prize of $1, 134 350 dollars. Its Captain Lupe Gonzales also took home a prize of $32,175 dollars for the category of Top Captain.
The Second Place went to the Team The Brass, receiving a prize of $732,500 dollars for a 305 lbs Blue Marlin caught on the third and final day of the competition.
The category of Catch and Release also crowned its winners. The team Reel Pushy claimed first place after releasing four blue marlins, winning a total of $110,500 dollars. In second place was team Pisces Listo winning $38,250 dollars releasing two blue marlins, and in third place was team Bull Rider also with two blue marlins released winning $21,250.
With the end of the tournament, Los Cabos officially welcomes the start of the high season for tourism in the destiny, after hard work by businesses and the local community, Los Cabos finds itself in the best spot to receive tourists its been since the beginning of the pandemic.
