Mamas Royal Cafe Review If your looking for a restaurant that appeals to both locals and tourists alike, then look no more, I’ve found the perfect place for you and it’s called, Mama’s Royal Café. It’s located across the street from Maro’s Shrimp house. They specialize in breakfast and breakfast only. They are open from 7am to 2pm. Like a lot of restaurants in Cabo, they have maintained a cozy but laid back kind of feeling. For starters, they serve a good cup of coffee to start off your day. Your biggest decision is what to have because they have 70 different breakfast items on their menu. I am going to highlight a few of my favorites for you so you can take some of the guesswork out of your decision.

Mama’s Royal Café has a lot of exotic items on their menu that are not available at other restaurants in Cabo. I will quote all of the prices in pesos and the exchange rate in Mexico changes everyday, but the current exchange rate of $18 pesos to the dollar will give you a rough idea of what your breakfast will cost you.

Lets start with their Specials Menu. Never seen this before, Lobster Benedict. Grilled English Muffins with sautéed lobster with homemade hollandaise sauce, fresh fruit and Mama’s potato’s for only $215 pesos. Most of the dishes come with Mama’s potato’s and fresh fruit, so keep that in the back of your mind. Crab and avocado omelet for $105 pesos. If you like omelets, they have a different concept to choose from. They have a list of items you can choose from and cheese is included in the omelet. If you want a one item omelet, it’s $124 pesos, if you want two items, it’s $134 pesos, three items, it’s $146 pesos and four items, it’s $154 pesos.

If you enjoy a traditional Mexican styled breakfast, they have you covered. Huevo’s Rancheros, $95 pesos, huevo’s Mexicana, $89 pesos and huevo’s with camerones, $149 pesos. Chilaquiles, which are diced tortillas sautéed with chicken, avocado and your choice of either mild red or green chilies for only $124 pesos.

Finally, they have an item on their menu that they describe their version is the worlds best French Toast. It’s stuffed with a rich mixture of Ricotta and Cream cheese and is topped with your choice of fruit and pecans flambé in orange liqueur.
Your choices of fruit are bananas, $140 pesos, strawberry’s, $155 pesos, mango, $155 pesos and finally mixed berries for $168 pesos which is what I had for break-fast today and it was excellent.
