Los Cabos Welcomes PCMA Professional Exchange – LOS CABOS, Baja California Sur, August 29, 2017 — The latest Professional Exchange for the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) took place August 23-27 in Los Cabos, Mexico. For the past three years, the Mexico chapter of PCMA has organized and hosted this successful event in various locations around Mexico, highlighting the values of the convention travel industry. The event brought together key meeting planners with local suppliers of the meeting and convention industry to promote an exchange of best practices and professional enrichment in order to better serve the national and international markets. Among the attendees at the Professional Exchange wereDerrick Johnson of the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers, Alaina Schulner of International Conferences at Tableau, Juan Carlos Lozano of Creativity, Ulises Huitron of Espencon, Bobby Heard of the American College of Emergency Physicians, and Maria Fernanda Salcido of Groups 2 Go, all well-known in the world of meeting and convention travel.
This renowned group was able to connect with the area’s full value chain, made up of local associations, government organizations, hotels, destination management companies, restaurants, AV and catering suppliers, among others, with the goal of continuing educational programs that promote best practices, with which the industry can continue to improve. Among the agreements it was decided that the PCMA Professional Exchange will be held again in Los Cabos in 2018, and that the destination and PCMA will establish a cooperative alliance to continue developing the industry.
For Los Cabos, the event was an opportunity to strengthen its position in national and international meeting and convention travel, and served as a platform to showcase its competitive advantages as a prime destination, including high quality services and notable tourist attractions.
