The award ceremony held on Wednesday night, April 25, 2018 was a big hit, with more than 500 attendees gathered to enjoy the Los Cabos Culinary Awards event for 2018. Hearts throbbed with excitement while waiting to learn who would be this year’s winner and see the presentation of the special award statue in honor of the well deserved work by the recipient. The 2018 Award for the best of gastronomy in Los Cabos, highlighting in most categories, was presented to Restaurant “Comal” of Chileno Bay. The team from Restaurant Comal were in high spirits as they went on stage to receive this special recognition.

A total of 24 restaurants were registered for this competition with ten categories that were chosen by the contest judges with the results of online voting by the general public. The results are as follows:
Culinary Experience (Cabo San Lucas) in Ciudad “Sunset Monalisa”
Culinary Experience (Cabo San Lucas) in Hotel “El Farallón The Resort at Pedregal”
Culinary Experience (Tourist Corridor) “Pitahayas Sheraton Grand Los Cabos Hacienda del Mar”
Culinary Experience (San José del Cabo) in Ciudad “Flora’s Field Kitchen”
Culinary Experience (San José del Cabo) in Hotel “Café des Artistes Los Cabos JW Marriott”

As for the awards that were decided by the qualifying panel of judges, who at all times proved to be very transparent, competent and knowledgeable in the culinary theme, the awards were as follows:
Revelation Chef – “Anand Singh Hotel Tree Las Ventanas al Paraíso”.
Sweet Proposal – “Toro Latin Kitchen & Bar by Richard Sandoval”.
“Comal” Culinary Proposal (Chileno Bay Resort & Residences).
Bar of the Year – “The Rooftop” (The Cape, at Thompson Hotel).
Wine Selection – “Seared by One & Only” (One & Only Palmilla).
Bartender of the Year – “Osvaldo Vázquez” Comal (Chilean Bay Resort & Residences).
New Restaurant – “Comal” (Chilean Bay Resort & Residences).
Chef of the Year – “Yvan Mucharraz” Comal (Chilean Bay Resort & Residences).
Restaurant of the Year in City “Toro Latin Kitchen & Bar by Richard Sandoval”.
Restaurant of the Year in Hotel – “Comal” (Chileno Bay Resort & Residences).
At the end of the event, the last and most recognized category of the “Culinary Trajectory” award was awarded to Sabor a Cabo, the gastronomic event that leaves an excellent taste in the mouth and the best comments among its attendees every year.
