The Tulip Tree is always in blossom here in San Jose. This quaint family-run restaurant has been a popular downtown spot in San Jose for years. It is most commonly known for the spectacular tree growing through the very center of the restaurant showcasing its gorgeous tulip blossoms. The dining area is set in an enclosed patio style situation with an unobstructed view of the clear blue sky. The kitchen opens up to the restaurant so patrons can get a full view of the Chef’s creation process.
Attached to the Tulip Tree is The Cabo Coffee Co., a sweet bakery featuring Grandmother’s homemade warm gooey brownies as well as various other fresh baked delectables. Located upstairs is Shooters, a large outdoor bar that offers The Tulip Tree’s same delicious menu. The upstairs bar provides patrons an alternative dining area ideal for a livelier crowd. The downstairs restaurant is only available to patrons during the high season, but Shooters remains open year round and is ran by the same dedicated owners Terry and Denise Erickson.

The Tulip Tree and Shooters pride themselves on providing affordable prices, generous portions, and friendly service. The menu includes a wide array of selections such as steaks, seafood, fajitas, stir-fry, and pastas. The new Mexican menu is also a big hit. Their various soups, salads, and appetizers make for a great start to any meal. The attentive staff works hard at making sure every costumer is satisfied.

Upstairs, the bar offers an incredible view of downtown San Jose. Besides the free wireless internet, Shooters biggest appeal are the numerous TV’s located throughout the spacious outdoor bar and restaurant. Sports fans can catch the latest televised games including hockey, basketball, and soccer. Upbeat music is constantly flowing through the bar as well as the loud cheers coming from the dedicated sports fans. Happy hour is available everyday from 9am-6pm and features beers for only ten pesos, while margaritas, piña coladas, and national drinks are just 250 pesos. Patrons can also rock out with a local Mexican cover band every Friday night.
The Tulip Tree and Shooters are open every day but Tuesdays.
