Established in 2008, Pietra Gallery first gained a reputation as a leading global dealer in fossils and minerals. Working with unconventional elements, sourced from uninhabitable deserts, tropical islands, snow-capped mountaintops and Nordic forests, the Mexican gallery’s range now includes unique pieces of furniture, lighting, art objects, homeware and exclusive artworks incorporating these rare discoveries.

With persistence akin to that with which fossils and minerals evolve over time, Pietra Gallery founder and designer, Ernesto Durán has been developing his knowledge, passion and dedication toward these natural elements for a lifetime. Since his first adolescent fascination with tumbled stones, his assemblage of gems, minerals, precious stones and fossils has expanded into a prized collection of treasures formed within the earth, now fashioned into highly sought-after collectible-design and art pieces for the home. Representing an elite group of international artists and designers, Pietra Gallery has become a pioneer in redefining how Earth’s formations can be repurposed into functional items and artworks for a contemporary home.
