The four headline Fashion Designers of Latin America guests included Agatha Ruiz de La Prada, Keyther Estevez, Leti Faviani, and Idol Jose. The Los Cabos celebrity couple was also interviewed live on Tuesday, February the 9th at 2:00 PM in Mexico City, in which they spoke about their collection and second participation in one of the most extravagant fashion design industry gala events, that have been held every year since it was created in 1943 by fashion industry press secretary, Eleanor Lambert.
”Our designs are loyal to architect Marco Vitruvio’s philosophy that tells us about three basic concepts; beauty, functionality and resistance, but also loyal to our own convictions, which is that we give life, soul and spirit to each one of our pieces,” said Indira Sanchez. ”In these pandemic times, we wanted to transmit joy, and play with vivid colors to give us hope,” she added.
”It is a collection with colors and lines that transform the concept of the jewelry, and we take it to another level,” noted Isidro Sanchez. ”We had to go inside the Hummingbirds mind, how it breathes, how it suspends in the air, it’s agility to fly, and how it breaks the wind like an obsidian arrowhead. How it being so small and fragile is still so admired, that legends, fables and tales have been written since remote times about this magical and spiritual being,” added Isidro when talking about the collection titled, ”Hummingbird Dream”. Describing how their jewelry collection mixes among the flowers, aquamarine flowers, autumn flowers with watermelon colors and sunflowers, with it’s perfect yellow brightness, like pure gold.”
”That’s what our collection is all about. To dream, to be free, and let yourself be guided amongst flowers, dancing with the wind in your face.
The material that we primarily use is silver. When the pieces are forged, we play with textures like hammered, sand finish, old oxidized, and bruins sharpening,” he said. ”The stones we use are precious and semi-precious from Mexico and the rest of the world. We also use organic materials like shells, snails, abalone and textured leather with more than 30 colors. All of it beveled in 24k gold. The techniques we employ are “cartonado”, lost wax smelting, laminated, sand melting, and all of our jewelry is 100% handcrafted.”
Indira & Isidro’ jewelry and artists have been inspired by the beauty of Baja California Sur. Their pieces tell stories, and express feelings and places that are located in San José del Cabo. They have achieved international recognition by reaching one of the largest catwalks in the United States. And although this year’s Fashion Weeks show wa sunlike the New York gala they attended in 2019, where because of the pandemic, everything has become a digital event per the Coronavirus pandemic forcing changes to every venue and event in the world.

With personalities, smiles and an immense glow from their spirits, that have made them shine as bright as their hand crafted jewelry.
