El Triunfo Fundraiser Benefit
El Triunfo, Baja California Sur, México
El Triunfo Fundraiser Benefit – The Pueblo Magico City of El Triunfo, Baja Calfornia Sur, hosted a fundraising event that was in and of itself, ”magical” as well. The Cooking & Giving theme was a memorable gala and community effort to help offset the cost of heart surgery for popular pianist and gentleman extraordinaire, Christian Schleifer, and his wonderful wife Jan; who has been suffering from cancer.
Twelve Chefs and five Mixologists from the Los Cabos area provided their voluntary food and drink-making skills to feed and fuel the estimated 100 +plus caring guests whose ticket purchases will go a long way to helping the Schleifer family.
The Cabañas Boutique Hotel was host to the fabulous event that featured a dizzying array of delectable delights that ranged from tasty tacos, empanadas, crunchy bite-sized tangy vegetable snacks created by the culinary wizardry of chefs Abraham A. Tamez (Metate), Alberto Collarte (Grand Solmar), Alejandro Torres (The Revolution), Alex Branch (Herringbone), Belen Cortez (Sigma), Cesar (Enciso Le Blanc), Cesar Pita Xo (Chihuahua), Christian Ricci (Solmar Group), Dahli De La Peña (Hotel Buenavista), Elena Sors (911 Mexico), Ibrahim Amaya (Jazamango) and Yvan Mucharraz (Comal).
“It was such a wonderful, fun and memorable event,” noted Medano Beach, Cabo San Lucas, Sands Bar business owner, Doris Tolson, who is a frequent Los Cabos philanthropist always willing and happy to help the various annual fundraising charities.
The warm and cool evening’s entertainment began with a young Jorge Espinoza playing piano, followed by Regino “Rex” Payan strumming the stand up harp and concluded with a not so young Christian Schleifer on the piano.
Gently hammering out a marvelous rendition of John Coltrane’s “My Favorite Things” along with a few other jazz classics. The Schleifer family benefit was proudly sponsored by Appleton, B’Ui, Bitter & Barrel, Bombay Sapphire, Gray Goose Vodka Company, Horseshoe, The Animas Botica, Pernord Ricard, Tequila Patron, and Us Foods.
