Dispensas or Basic Food Basket
The Basic Food Basket / Basket, La Canasta/Cesta Básica (CBA) is defined as the set of various foods, expressed in sufficient quantities to satisfy the calorie needs of an average household. However, it should be clear that it represents a minimum food from a consumption pattern of a group of reference households and not a sufficient diet in all nutrients, and the most important needs of the basic basket are food because it is made up of more things not only from the kitchen.
This is a program that seeks to combat hunger, malnutrition and the injustice of not having the most basic thing, food
The Government of Mexico has the responsibility to guarantee food security. In this sense, the initiative arises to increase the basic basket from 23 to 40 basic necessities that will always be available in the 27 thousand SEGALMEX community stores. These stores are located in towns with high or very high marginalization, with a population range of between 200 and 14,999 inhabitants. www.gob.mx/canastabasica
