Choyero is the nickname for those born in the state of Baja California Sur, Mexico. Another source limits the area only to the Los Cabos region of Baja California Sur.

Choyeros are the name for locals who were born in Baja California Sur.  Only about 15% of the people in this area were born here.  The word refers to the cholla cactus, a particularly prickly desert dweller with an infinite number of fine thorns that like to hitch rides on pant legs of those who walk past. True Choyeros have a slight Baja accent and a number of expressions specific to this area.
