Sabor a Cabo International Food & Wine Festival

Sabor A Cabo International Food & Wine Festival is the Southern Baja California Los Cabos Region’s culinary celebration in which local ingredients, famous chefs, popular restaurants, and wine houses all merge into a sophisticated, fun-filled night in Los Cabos. During its 14 years in existence, the distinguished Sabor A Cabo Food Festival has been bringing together more than 3,000 people for an evening of sampling a tasty selection of dishes prepared by 40 different restaurants, and more than 80 wine houses, mezcal and tequila producers. A galactic gastronomic gathering that ends with a spectacular concert. to benefit the Red Cross, Los Cabos Firefighters and The Los Cabos Children Foundation.
All participating restaurants from Sabor a Cabo share an impressive display of their iconic recipes whose chefs have this once a year opportunity to serve the more than 3,000 annual attendees. Making Sabor a Cabo one of the most important international culinary festivals in the country.
The unique and wonderful event he has been spearheaded by the small group of visionary restaurant entrepreneurs, led by founding member Edith Jiménez, Carmen Carbajal, Jacobo Turquie, Alfonso Vázquez, Ulises Méndez, Denis Gabriel, Luis Alvarado, Jorge Viaña, Billy Lagarde and Gianmarco Vela.
In 2012, the cost of attending Sabor A Cabo was a meager $500 pesos for adults and $250 pesos for children. That general admission entry price has since risen to a whopping $1.200 pesos. ”Its a charity event with silent auctions and live auctions, great food and wine and the best ambiance of local flavor and Mexican locals participating,” said Edith Jimenez. Every year since it began in 2005, the Sabor a Cabo Culinary Festival, has steadily evolved and grown to the year’s most cerebrated event. An evening of culinary delight that has featured such world-famous musicians, like the popular Mexican Rock & Roll bands, MANA, and La Ley, as well as Grammy award-winning singer, Lila Downs.
In 2018, musician Miguel Bose, was the headline performer. Born in Panama City, Panama, the son of Italian actress Lucia Bosè (real name Lucia Borloni) and bullfighter Luis Miguel Dominguín, Miguel Bose signed a contract with CBS Records in 1977. Between 1977 and 1982, Bosè was a major teen idol in Italy, Spain, Southern Europe and in all Latin America. He had 7-top ten hits in the disco/new wave era, and it was in 1985 that he became an international superstar, when his song “Amante Bandido” rose to the top of the Latin America and Spain music charts.
This 2019 edition promises to surpass all of its previous Sabor A Cabo magical wonder.
