HEADLINES: July 20, 2015:
Well, Hurricane Dolores passed by us over the past week and really messing up the fishing and even closing the port over a few days. It is open now and back to normal now, but was windy and rough with large swells last week, which wasn’t good for boating and fishing forcing the port captain to close the port. After the storm we were seeing some action on Blue and Striped Marlin with all indications saying it was getting back to normal. Sunny weather today and yesterday were a good sign we will see some fish this coming week.
Hurricane Dolores
Hurricane Dolores was an Eastern Pacific tropical cyclone that brought peripheral effects to the U.S. and Mexico despite never making landfall during its weeklong journey.
Dolores formed as a tropical depression on Saturday morning, July 11, 2015. It became a tropical storm early July 12 and a hurricane July 13. Dolores rapidly intensified to a Category 4 hurricane overnight Tuesday night, July 14.
Sustained winds of 80 mph with gusts to 114 mph were measured by automated equipment on Socorro Island, a small volcanic island under Mexican jurisdiction late Wednesday night, July 15, as the eye of Dolores passed nearby.
Mexico’s mainland also felt some peripheral effects as outer rainbands occasionally reached the coast.
Dolores curved toward the north-northeast and began to weaken. It became a tropical storm on Friday morning, July 17, and degenerated into a post-tropical low-pressure center about 300 miles west of the Baja California coast on Saturday evening, July 18.
Jc Sportfishing Charters is a family owned and operated business and has been fishing in Cabo San Lucas for the past 18 years. Jerry, explains that his charter business is geared more for families and novice anglers, making sure everyone who charters a boat with him have a great time and lots of fun. We welcome families, and groups. We want everyone who fishes with us to take all the sites in and have a memorable experience. This is what is most important to us. We have and do a few tournaments each year and can cater to fisherman who might be interested in tournament fishing. Well lets get on with the fishing report for this past week.
WEATHER: Sunny today and yesterday, but most of the week was hot, overcast and windy with rough sea conditions. It is very hot with some intense temperatures today probably well up around a 100 degrees or more.
WATER: The water is still pretty messed up as the storm went with us, but it will take a few days to settle and should get back to normal soon. Wind has dyed down and so things should be getting back to normal.

BILLFISH: Most of the week the Marlin fishing has been slow but it did pick up when swells and wind died down. There was some Blue Marlin and Striped Marlin was biting as of yesterday and today with some being landed and released.
DORADO: Very slow over this past week due to the storm, so we don’t have a lot to report on Dorado as the port was closed most of the week.
SWORDFISH: Hasn’t heard of any caught this week.
WAHOO: I haven’t heard of any Wahoo this past week.
TUNA: No reports of Tuna this past week.
INSHORE: Afew Rooster fish after the port opened is all that was reported.
