| La Golondrina Restaurant & Trading Post is the traditional name of our restaurant. The name La Golondrina was given to a trader named Julio Gomez in 1896 who built a trading post at this site in Cabo San Lucas, rumored to have been a Mission. Señor Gomez unknowingly created a bit of history. He returned faithfully from mainland Mexico to stock his trading post at the same time that the swallows returned to the Mission San Juan Capistrano each year from their winter 6,000 miles south in Argentina. This earned him the nickname ?La Golondrina and became the name of this, the oldest building in Cabo San Lucas, starting a tradition with us her more than 100 years later. |

Years ago travelers arrived to Los Cabos in caravans, motor homes, campers and any vehicle that could make the trek down the Baja California peninsula. Things have changed in Cabo San Lucas. Because of this and the confusion with the many restaurants in trailer parks, it is time for us to change our name. La Golondrina Restaurant & Trading Post still has the same huge portions of lobster, steaks, home-style Mexican food and fresh seafood. Our famous family recipes and sauces continue to be used in preparation of over 100 entrees and combinations available from our huge walk up menu board. |
| Having been a Trading Post and possibly a Mission, being called "the Trailer Park' and continuing to be a restaurant, we wonder, "why be called ‘the Trailer Park’? Julio Gomez put into place a trading post that led to our important history. To eliminate the confusion of so many people using the name ‘trailer park’, and to honor our history, we are now La Golondrina Restaurant & Trading Post. |

La Golondrina Restaurant What comes to your mind when you dream of dining out in Cabo? How about having a romantic dinner under trees wrapped in twinkling lights, stars overhead, strolling mariachis, great Mexican seafood, steaks, and delicious margaritas? The decades old La Golondrina restaurant in downtown Cabo San Lucas over a hundred years ago was once a lowly trading post, then perhaps a mission, and later a trailer park evolving into one of Cabo’s signature dining spots (sans the trailers.) It has stood the taste test of time. |
