If its an active night-life that appeals to you, world-famous Cabo Wabo is a must-see, as is El Squid Roe, and Cabo's newest, the Zoo Bar and Dance. Cabo San Lucas has become a shopper's paradise with Puerto Paraiso Mall resplendent in marble, elevators and escalators, not to mention numerous restaurants and fine shops selling articles not only from Mexico but from around the world, including fine jewels, men's and ladies fashions, and fine art. There are open plazas for strolling, or enjoying a latte while people-watching. Everything's up to date in Los Cabos with gourmet delis, liquor stores specializing in world-renown wines and tequila, and "big box" super markets for every discriminating shopper. With Costco and Home Depot new to the area, your every need is readily satisfied.
Para-sailing? Sky diving? Scuba diving? Snorkeling? Or just a sunset dinner cruise. Cabo San Lucas has activities that satisfy the locals and thousands of tourists that visit Cabo San Lucas year after year. There are not many places where you can swim with dolphins; in Cabos San Lucas, get up close and personal with these beautiful creatures. It's hard to imagine which amazing experiences in Los Cabos you will remember the most. Spotting the whales as they play in the Sea of Cortez. Scuba diving among the otherworldly creatures. Seeing the outcropping of rock that forms the famous Arch, at Land's End. Or spending the afternoon on the marina sipping Margaritas ogling the luxury yachts in the harbor. Whale watching is a popular activity from December through March when the gray whales from the Artic travel the 7,000 mile trek to the Baja Peninsula to mate and give birth. Los Cabos, which means "the Capes", consisting of Cabo San Lucas, its sister city, San Jose del Cabo located 20 miles away, and the Tourist Corridor in between, becomes a second home for many visitors. Hernán Cortez sat in his headquarters on the Isthmus of Tehuantepec scheming about what he might conquer next. Bingo! A shipwreck survivor reported an island ten sailing days north that was populated by Amazons and was rich in gold and pearls. That sounded to Hernán like the fabled island of California ruled by the Amazonian Queen, Calafia. He fairly drooled at the thought. "Andale, hombre", he told his ship builder, "get on with it".
