Cycas thouarsii
Origin: Madagascar
Rate of Growth: Fast growing, double the rate of a revoluta.
Water Needs: Moist - well drained.
Size: Up to 10 m
Features: This cycas is thought to be the oldest of all the cycads - 140 million years old. Happy in sun with light shade. It is very similar to the Cycas rumphii and it's almost impossible to tell them apart.

Water Needs: Growth can be sped up by giving lots of water.
Size: Up to 12 m
Features: The blue leaves of this palm makes it stand out from most other plants and is a dramatic specimen. It likes full sun and very well-drained soil. Does not like shade with moisture. Once planted in the ground it should stay there, does not transplant well.

Water Needs: Water generously for faster growth
Size: 90 cm
Features: This specimen likes full sun and is a very versatile landscape plant. It looks great when grouped in threes or more. Also looks good in containers with other plants such as the Pachypodium. It is wickedly sometimes referred to as the mother-in-law's seat.
