Hurricane John - September 5th 2006
Cabo San Lucas, Los Cabos, Mexico

Sand and dirt are still being cleaned up along the Transpeninsular Highway, connecting San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, but it doesn’t affect the communication between the two cities. Unpaved roads might be cracked or have large holes in them. Electricity and running water have been completely reestablished in San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Tourist areas such as beaches and the city center show normal activity.

Today (Sept. 5) classes resumed in all public schools of the Los Cabos municipality.

State Health Department (La Secretaria de Salud) issued, until further notice, a suspension of food sales by street vendors, in both San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, to prevent an outbreak of diseases. The public is advised not to consume any products from these establishments.
