Fourth of July Deals in Cabo San Lucas
U.S. visitors to Los Cabos next week will have plenty of opportunities to flex their patriotic muscles. The men’s national soccer team meets Belgium in the World Cup at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, and with a win can advance to the quarterfinals and equal its best result in the quadrennial tournament since 1930. And, of course, next Friday is the Fourth of July, U.S. Independence Day. In addition to the traditional fireworks show over Médano Beach in Cabo San Lucas, many local bars and restaurants will be offering red, white, and blue–themed holiday specials for gringo patrons. Here are a few of our favorites:

Médano Beach
T
he annual fireworks show typically starts between 8 and 9 p.m., which allows beachfront businesses to showcase dinner deals with free entertainment. Mango Deck, Cabo San Lucas’s beachfront party place nonpareil, is offering a beach bash and all-you-can-eat barbecue special starting at 6 p.m. on July 4. The cost for adults is $26 U.S., kids $19 U.S., and live music will be offered in addition to the food and fireworks.
The Moxitos Beach Club, best known for its fresh seafood combo plates and tropical cocktails, is also getting into the holiday spirit with a special menu, live music, and scenic vantages from which to watch the fireworks show. The special dinner deal features a mix of Mexican and American favorites—chips and salsa, guacamole, barbecued ribs, hamburgers, fried chicken, corn on the cob, french fries, salad, cole slaw, and macaroni and cheese—and is priced at $25 U.S. per person.
Other top options on Médano Beach include Nikki Beach Club and Baja Brewing Company. The former is home to the area’s hippest poolside party scene, and for the Fourth is offering all-day barbecue and other American-style pleasures from its seaside location at ME Cabo Hotel. The latter is set rooftop at Cabo Villas Beach Resort and Spa, and it guarantees a spectacular spot from which to watch the fireworks, as well as American menu favorites like burgers and pizzas, and the smoothest sipping craft beers in Los Cabos.
Cabo San Lucas Marina
Solomon’s Landing, located behind Wyndham Cabo San Lucas Resort, has long been one of the benchmark restaurants on the marina, notable for its enormous menu selection and high-quality food and service. For the Fourth of July, the menu options have been simplified. For $20 U.S., you get an enormous plate filled with barbecued ribs and chicken, plus corn on the cob and cole slaw. If that doesn’t get your patriotic juices flowing, try chef-owner Brian Solomon’s New Orleans–style seafood dishes or California- and Hawaiian-style hamburgers.
Downtown Cabo San Lucas
For early and late celebrations, head to downtown Cabo San Lucas. Sammy G’s, a new sports bar–its 106-inch television redefines the term big-screen, making this the perfect place to watch Tuesday’s soccer match—kicks off the Fourth of July
festivities with $1 U.S. hot dogs and $100 peso pizzas (about $8 U.S.) from noon to 4 p.m. Sammy G’s is air-conditioned, no small consideration during the summer months, and it features a regulation-sized pool table and dart boards for those in a sporting mood.
After the fireworks, check out Cabo Blue, best known for its excellent pub grub, drink specials, and late-night live music. All three will be on display during its Fourth of July bash. Jumbo hot dogs are $1.50 U.S., beers are $2 U.S., hamburgers and $3 U.S. Fireball shots are also $ 3 U.S., and two-for-one deals are available on that most American spirits, Jack Daniel The live music starts at 10 p.m., courtesy of Los Rancheros Tristes. The group’s name means “The Sad Ranchers” in Spanish. You are in México, after all.
