Los Cabos Green Fest Will Promote Environmental Awareness With Live Music, Healthy Activities
Although there wasn’t a lot of Irish pride on display locally during Monday’s St. Patrick’s Day observances, a certain verdant color still figures to garner a lot of attention this month courtesy of the inaugural Los Cabos Green Fest, which will take place March 27–29 in Cabo San Lucas.

Tickets and travel packages are still available for the Los Cabos Green Fest, to be held March 27–29 in Cabo San Lucas.
The three-day event is intented to promote sustainability, wellness, and environmental awareness, and it will include live musical performances by DJ Laura Low, Lafa Taylor, and Marv Ellis at Nikki Beach in the ME Cabo resort on Médano Beach. Other scheduled features include a conference on sustainability at the Pabellón Cultural de La República, and healthy outdoor activities such as yoga, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and a beach soccer tournament.
All electricity needed for the concerts and events will be produced via “pedal power,” with festival attendees generating the necessary wattage by riding stationary bicycles. Additionally, waste from the event will be recycled and repurposed to reduce the carbon footprint, and a portion of the proceeds will go to support environmentally active non-profit organizations.
“We are proud to host the first ever Los Cabos Green Fest and hope this event demonstrates our commitment to the environment and positions Los Cabos as one of the most eco-friendly destinations in Mexico,” said Eduardo Segura, managing director of the Los Cabos Tourism Board. “This festival is unique in that it aims to increase the global community by bringing together locals as well as visitors to create memories through music and sustainable practices.”
R21 (Revolución 21) was founded by musician Charly Alberti—best known as the drummer for the influential Argentine band Soda Stereo—in an attempt to find solutions for the problems caused by climate change in Latin America, and an educational R21 conference will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 28, at the Cultural Pavilion in Cabo San Lucas.

All electricity needed for live music and activities during the three-day event will be generated by “pedal power.”
The live music performances, meanwhile, will showcase a pronounced “West Coast” vibe. Singer and emcee Lafa Taylor and hyphy DJ Laura Low are both from Northern California, and eclectic hip-hop artist Marv Ellis hails from Eugene, Oregon. Laura Low will kick off the festivities by DJing the pool party on Thursday, March 27, and all three perform Friday night, March 28, at Nikki Beach.
“There is no better place than Los Cabos to showcase nature’s wonders through the activities highlighted in this festival,” noted Alejandro Vidal, founder and organizer of the event. “Every participant and attendee will leave Los Cabos Green Fest knowing they contributed to creating a more responsible and sustainable society.”
