A Lot to ‘Like’: Some of Our Favorite Facebook Pages
In the short two months since Hurricane Odile tore through Southern Baja, leaving an unprecedented path of destruction, Los Cabos residents and businesses have proved themselves unstoppable. Or, better said, #UNSTOPPABLE.
Never before have we been so aware of the growing strength and reach of Los Cabos social media. The tourism board and industry, as well as citizens and visitors have come together to send messages of support and demonstrate resiliency using the hashtag #unstoppable. Other popular hashtags include #CaboShines, #CaboStrong, and #imparable.
All of this got us thinking about those Facebook pages we visit most for updates on Los Cabos. Here we’ve put together a short list of some of our favorites. This list is not exhaustive, of course, and we would love to have your feedback. Which page would you add?
Los Cabos Guide: We couldn’t write this post and not include our own pages, could we? In addition to the page dedicated to our mother ship—where you’ll find information on beaches, activities, fishing, restaurants, shopping, events, and discounts—we also manage Los Cabos Magazine, Events Los Cabos, and our newest page, Cabo Times. Please, if you can, take a moment to check them out.
Medano Beach: Businesses located along Medano Beach—the most swimmable stretch of sand in Cabo San Lucas—have united to keep Medano clean, safe, and on the minds of locals and visitors. Click here for news on area businesses and gorgeous beach pics.
Visit Mexico: There’s a reason more than 2.6 million people follow this page, namely the endless supply of awesome photos of Mexico tourism destinations.
Cabo Villas: This company specializes in vacation rentals, but it also produces some helpful and interesting editorial content. Check out the page for native intelligence and fun photos.
Bahia Hotel: The Medano Beach district boutique hotel actually has two pages—click here for Bar Esquina, its on-site restaurant—but here you will find plenty of photos and videos to keep you occupied. Learn how to cook with exclusive recipes from the executive chef or follow the insider tips to learn about exciting taco spots, the best mountain biking paths, the San Jose del Cabo art walk, and more.
Visit Baja Sur: The state’s official tourism board page highlights the region’s must-visit locations and, in the time after Odile, was a good source of information for people wanting updates on recovery efforts.
Mi Casa: The iconic Cabo San Lucas spot has recently upped the ante on its Facebook page, posting photos of the picture-perfect restaurant as well as mouthwatering menu items.
Los Cabos Tourism: Want nonstop Los Cabos photos and info on upcoming events? Click here!
Mango Deck: Los Cabos has a reputation as a world-class spring break destination, and it’s likely the Mango Deck Facebook page that keeps the belief alive. This page mixes in photos of the restaurant’s ambitious menu, but most shots have a much more lively feel. Think bikinis, booze, and beach.
