Well school is out for summer and I think it is going to get really busy this year. Please make your reservations a little sooner if you plan on coming down in the summer time as I expect we are going to be very busy this season. It is the time of year for all the big Blue and Black Marlin to move into the area so we are getting prepaired for the busy out of school season.

Jc Sportfishing Charters is a family owned and operated business and has been fishing in Cabo San Lucas for the past 18 years. Jerry, explains that his charter business is geared more for families and novice anglers, making sure everyone who charters a boat with him have a great time and lots of fun. We welcome families, and groups. We want everyone who fishes with us to take all the sites in and have memorable experience. This is what is most important to us. We have and do a few tournaments each year and can cater to fisherman who might be interested in tournament fishing. Well lets get on with the fishing report for this past week.

WEATHER: The weather has been really nice with days in the ladder 80,s to lo 90,s and lows in the mid 60,s. We have had some nice breezes in the evenings so it has cooled things off a bit compared to last week. Really good fishing weather but bring your sun screen.

WATER: Temperatures from 72 to about 78 degrees according to Tempbreak.com. http://www.tempbreak.com/index.php?&cwregion=cb

It looks as if it is a little cooler compared to what it has been but really pretty normal for this time of year. We will see the temperatures go up over the next 2 weeks I am sure. W will wait and see as as you know the water temperature will affect what we are catching and just the fishing in general.

TUNA: The Tuna have turned up from the 95 spot to 8 miles off the Light House and most of the fish caught were in the 15lb to 20lb range but there was one report of a Tuna tipping the scales at 170lb and he was caught on a cedar plug about 30 miles out and this is a good sign of things to come shortly.

BILLFISH: Fishing has picked up compared to last week with good numbers of Marlin being landed this week. The 95 spot was a good area to be in and most of the fish were caught on ballyhoo and live bait slow trolled, but we did get a few on lures. One of our boats caught 3 out of the 4 Marlin they hooked making for some wore out anglers. We had noticed the Marlin moving up towards the San Jamie Banks and good numbers of Marlin were taken up there as well. All in all it has been a good week.

DORADO: The Dorado fishing hasn’t been really happening and I think it is due to  cooler water temperatures at around 72 to 74 degrees and the Dorado just disappeared.

INSHORE: The inshore fishing has been hit and miss with a few Marlin taken on some of the Pangas. I have heard of a few Roosters caught but honestly not a lot of action close to shore. It seems everything being caught is offshore at least 2 miles.

WAHOO: A few Wahoo this past week but really not to many that I have heard of over the week.

BEWARE: Please beware of the guys in the street selling boat charters. If you wait till the day you are fishing and go to the dock where your boat is many times people will mislead you to another boat or dock trying to put you on a boat that was not meant for you. You need to have a person guide you to your boat, who is from a reputable charter company. This way there is no confusion or misleading. Please remember when renting Sport fishing boats in Cabo that you rent your boat from reputable and established business. Walk into a fishing fleet office and ask questions about what you are getting and what are the costs? You dont want to rent boats from vendors in the streets and you do not want to book through shady websites offering you the world. Check through travel forums about reputable fishing fleets to deal with. Look for testimonials about the fleet your booking your charter with. Ask about what will the boat be supplying? Will it include beverages or lunches? How much does it cost to fillet your catch? Check to see if charter boat is insured? Ask about getting your catch smoked? Check cost of fishing license. These are just a few things to consider when booking your charter boat. We will be talking more about this in next weeks fishing report. Until next time good fishing and we hope to see you in Cabo soon. Recipe: Pan Seared Grouper with a White Wine Lemon Butter Sauce with Capers and Artichoke Hearts – From the Admirals Kitchen

This is a delicious and easy entrée for date night or for a dinner party. The sauce can be made ahead and all you have to do is sear the grouper, when ready to serve top with the sauce and you have a restaurant quality meal in no time.  Lemon Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil . I love using infused oils because it has a smoother flavor that a drizzle of juice from a fresh lemon just won’t do and you will be delighted with the flavor and the gourmet quality it adds to any dish you create. Ingredient amounts will serve two.
