Fish Report for the Week of May 9th thru May 15th 2014

fish repEven with the huge full moon this week, the fishing was much better than I expected, the action remains a bit inconsistent although the mix of fish greatly improves with a great week catching Marlin and Dorado as the waters turned blue and cleared up, plenty of small game fish also available.  Species bitting are Bonita, Rooster, Skip Jack, Needle Fish, and Jack Carvelle.  With beautiful Hot and sunny days and an average temperature of 93 F, clear skies and an average water temperature of 79 F.  An good week with 50 fishing trips provided by Sushi Time Sport Fishing, we had a 94% effectiveness catching fish, with 103+ bonitas, needle fish and skip jacks, 8 medium-size rooster fish, 46 Dorados in the +35 lbs category but some of the larger fish we’ve seen this early in the season, and 23 Stripped Marlin in the +145 lbs which some ended mounted by Gray Taxidermy. Our fish mostly caught this week on live caballito, lures and Hoochies. The highlight of this week definitely has to be the Dorado that where caught on most of our trips. The Hot spot for this week was the on the Pacific side from Solmar to the old Light House.  Pangas again getting near limits some days of the week.

The temperature keeps rising so this is a sign of continuing better fishing.
