Fish Report for the Week of May 16th thru May 22nd 2014
Fish Report, May 16th thru May 22nd 2014
Most pangas getting near limits most days of this week. It’s has been one of the hotter weeks of the year and waters were also warmer as well, the good side of this is much of the green water has gone and we now have blue water and great fishing. With a great week catching Dorado and still plenty of small game fish available. Species bitting are Bonita, Rooster, Skip Jack, Needle Fish, Jack Carvelle and Wahoo. With beautiful clear skies and sunny days, an average temperature of 96 F, and an average water temperature of 79 F. A so/so week with 35 fishing trips provided by Sushi Time Sport Fishing, we had a 97.14% effectiveness catching fish, with 73+ bonitas, needle fish and skip jacks, 6 mediumto big-size rooster fish, 120+ Dorados in the +20 lbs category but also some of the larger dorados we have seen this season, 2 medium size Wahoos and only 3 Stripped Marlin in the +145 lbs. We keep seeing Marlin everywhere unfortunately they wouldn’t bite, they would just swim right by the boat not paying attention to our baits. We also saw some yellow fin tuna moving into our area. Our fish mostly caught this week on live bait. The highlight of this week definitely a 33.60 LBS big-size Rooster Fish caught by Dominic Lau and all the multiple Dorados that were caught on most of our trips. The Hot spot for this week was the Pacific side from Solmar to the old Light House. The forecast says the temperature keeps rising so this is a sign of better fishing.
