Seared Tuna Steak with Wasabi Mayo
Seared Tuna Steak with Wasabi Mayo
by captgeo – Flyhooker Sportfishing – Recipe of the Week
I like it simple, and this one only took 30 minutes last night. Most of the time was spent on some mashed potatoes to go on the side and making a small salad. The sides you use are up to you, but here is the recipe for the entree!
Two Yellowfin Tuna steaks, approximately 1″ thick by 6″ diameter
Oil each steak with a bit of your favorite oil, I used Avacado oil
Grind some salt and pepper on each side of the steaks, then press sesame seeds onto both sides
Heat up a skillet and when hot. drop the steaks in.
Sear each side about two to three minutes, or until they show almost cooked 1/2 way through each side, do NOT overcook!
While the steaks are cooking, whip some prepared wasabi (I really like the S&B in the tube) with some mayo as a dip. I used approximately three tablespoons Wasabi to 1/2 cup Mayo.
Let the steaks cool a minute and serve with either some cooked white rice or some mashed potatoes!
Mmmmm Mmmmmm good!
