Peacocks Struts Its Stuff at Grand Re-Opening

A Los Cabos favorite for more than 23 years, Peacock’s Restaurant & Bar reopened last night at an event so successful, it suggests the best is yet to come for this fine dining fixture near Médano Beach.

The area’s best and brightest arrived in all their Peacock’s plumage for champagne, hand-crafted margaritas, and delicious tapas, all enhanced by the cool house beats of the on-site DJ and virtuosic accompaniment courtesy of an electric violin player.

The music was a perfect compliment to the elegant decor, with the high-powered guest list mingling amidst tropical palm trees, kaleidoscopic courtyard lighting, comfy couches ringing a romantic fire fit, and the colorful palapa-topped indoor dining area with its chic bar and evocative contemporary paintings.

But as it ever was, the focus at Peacock’s was on food and service. The restaurant is committed to serving fresh local seafood and organic local produce, and meat lovers will be cheered by the fact that all the beef comes from grass-fed stock flown in from New Zealand.
The new-look Mexican-Mediterranean fusion menu includes spectacular pasta, seafood, and meat dishes, such as the succulent duck breast in a blue agave honey with yellow curry sauce, and the superb red wine cardamon reduction baked beef ribs, slow roasted for six hours until heartbreakingly tender, and served with mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, and bell peppers.

Not in the mood for a full dinner? Chill by the fireplace in the lounge or try a gourmet Tuscan-style pizza from the wood-fired oven. The kitchen is open, so you can watch your mouthwatering masterpiece being created while sipping wine or enjoying a tropical cocktail at the bar. The party isn’t over, after all. It’s beginning again each and every night, and it’s better than ever.
