Tropical depression forming to the south

By Ed Kociela

The National Weather Service is predicting that cloudiness and showers associated with a low-pressure area about 650 miles south-southwest of Manzanillo has a chance of becoming a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours.

Forecasters say a tropical depression could form during the next day or so as the system moves west at about 10 mph. They say there is a 60 percent chance it will become a cyclone.
