Querencia Names Andre Boersma as General Manager of Operations
After an exhaustive search, Querencia announced today the appointment of Andre Boersma as General Manager of Club Operations. Boersma joins Querencia October 15th after tenure as Senior Vice President and General Manager at the One & Only Ocean Club in the Bahamas.
A veteran of the luxury resort industry, Boersma has held posts at the One & Only Palmilla, Los Cabos, where he served as Resident Manager, at Esperanza and at also Las Ventanas al Paraiso; a Rosewood Hotel & Resort. Boersma studied Hotel & Restaurant Management in Vancouver, Canada and has since lived and worked in Mallorca, Spain, the People’s Republic of China and the Caribbean islands among other destinations.

Querencia To Host Duckett Challenge - January 21 & 22, 2007
The Los Cabos Children’s Foundation (LCCF) will hold the 1st annual Duckett Challenge at Querencia, January 21 & 22, 2007. Tom Walsh, LCCF President and Querencia Member, names the event in loving memory of long-time Querencia friend, Member and Los Cabos leader, Fred Duckett. “Fred and family have been an inspiration for the LCCF and everything we love about Los Cabos. We honor Fred with this event and are grateful to Querencia for helping it come to fruition.”
CBS golf personality David Feherty and comedian George Lopez will host a two-day extravaganza of golf, entertainment and camaraderie. Richard O’Neal and Ron Swenson will chair. Entry fees are $ 20,000 per team.

As of August 17th, holes #7 and #14 are closed for play. With the assistance of the Fazio Design Group, we are making a few modifications to the greens in order to improve playability and provide us with more options for hole locations. This project should take about 2 weeks with the holes being reopened in about 3-4 weeks for play. Please make a note of this project in the event that you or a guest are planning a trip to Cabo.
Meanwhile, with the recent rain we have received, we are ‘full-steam ahead’ in the completion of our typical maintenance projects in preparation for high season. The course is beginning to show real signs of improvement after the drought conditions suffered in May and June. If you have any questions about the course conditions or any maintenance projects, please feel free to contact me at your convenience.
Spa Update
In an effort to complete the Spa renovations on schedule, please be advised that all massage and spa treatments are suspended until early November. While the facilities themselves will remain open, no treatments will be available at the Club during September and October. To offset this inconvenience, we are extending Members a special invitation to visit Ixchel Spa at the Los Cabos Hilton. Please Contact Eva Ceseña
Querencia Announces Alliance with Los Cabos Children's Foundation
Querencia announced today it would lend an official endorsement to the Los Cabos Children's Foundation; an organization that provides medical, education and humanitarian assistance to needy children and families in the Los Cabos area. Calling the Foundation “one of the most impactful charitable organizations in the entire area”, Sales & Marketing Leader, Jon Savage said the Club would host a major golf tournament and social event during the 2006-2007 social season. Plans for additional joint programs are also underway.

Querencia Announces Large Land Acquisition in Support of Development Expansion
Querencia, a private golf club and residential community in Los Cabos, Mexico announced today it has completed the acquisition of a new parcel of land adjacent to the development’s existing property lines. The new land, which measures 400 hectares or approximately 900 acres in size, stretches west and southwest, towards the village of Cabo San Lucas.
“This is a very strategic acquisition for us,” said Jon Savage, director of Real Estate and Development for Querencia. “By virtually doubling the size of our existing development, we have additional terrain upon which to carve a second golf course as well as new real estate products.” Currently, Querencia offers a private Tom Fazio course and a portfolio of custom or standard building options ranging in size and price. “This significant addition to our balance sheet reflects Querencia's commitment to build the premier private club and residential community of the region.”
LINKS Magazine Selects Querencia as 2005 Premier Property
Querencia announced today it has been selected as a 2005-06 Premier Property by the editors of LINKS Magazine. Querencia was one of only 140 properties in North America chosen by the magazine. The full listing of properties appears in the newly published 2005-06 Premier Properties Guide, LINKS’ annual guide to golf’s finest communities.
To be selected, a community was required to have golf as the centerpiece of its amenities and a dedication to overall excellence. Properties were selected on the quality of the living experience, including the condition of the golf course, amenities, housing options and more.

Querencia Welcomes New Food & Beverage Director, Keith Gilmartin
Querencia announced today it would further expand its staff with the addition of Keith Gilmartin. Gilmartin joins Querencia as Food & Beverage Director. A native of Hanover, Massachusetts, Gilmartin moves to Los Cabos from Aspen, Colorado where he managed the Sundeck restaurant atop Aspen Mountain. Aside from an acknowledged track record of exceptional customer service, Gilmartin brings much passion and personality to his trade. Querencia to Participate in Grand Am Sports Car Racing Circuit
Querencia announced this week participation in the Grand American Rolex Sport Car Series. The Querencia race car, Number 31, will make its debut at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on Sunday May, 1st. Querencia Welcomes New Club Manager, Brian Martin
Querencia announced today a strategic appointment to its staff: Brian Martin joins Querencia as Club Manager charged with overseeing all Club & Golf Operations for the facility. Brian comes to Querencia from Red Sky; a Tom Fazio-designed course in Vail, Colorado ranked by Golf Magazine in 2004 as the best course in Colorado. Brian’s prior credits include Maroon Creek Club in Vail where he served as Club Manager and Director of Membership for 4 years. He also holds a Master of Education in Sports Management.
Brian brings a passion for excellence and a strong record of improving service levels to the communities wherein he has served. As a result, his accomplishments are perfectly aligned with many of Querencia’s new directives including how to build an organization capable of delivering impeccable standards of world-class service. Brian’s addition serves as the catalyst for this effort.
