Tequilas Premium releases their newest and most exclusive extra añejo Tequila

Los Cabos, Mexico (March 1, 2007) – One of the most anticipated events in the world of tequila took place on February 26, 2007 at the Marquis Los Cabos Beach, Golf, Spa and Casitas Resort in Los Cabos. Luis Lozano and Arturo Lomelí, directors of Tequilas Premium launched one of the first extra añejo tequilas on the world market, Clase Azul Ultra, bringing about a considerable buzz among the tequila aficionados and collectors.
Aged for a minimum of five years in oak casks, this fine tequila comes in a ceramic decanter adorned with platinum, gold and sterling silver. The silver medallion on the front of the bottle was elaborated by a renowned artist from the state of Jalisco –– León Fernández. Tequilas Premium representatives described their newest product as “ an artwork that brings together two of the most traditional Mexican elements: the artistic and artisan work and the excellence of tequila, Mexico’s national drink.”
The price of this fine tequila is $1,200 U.S. per bottle and the first edition includes only 100 bottles. They are available for sale exclusively through Tequilas Premium website.
It is important to mention that one of Tequilas Premium previous products, Clase Azul Tequila Reposado, has already earned international recognition receiving the Gold Medal from the Chicago Beverage Testing Institute and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
The February 26th event was also an important occasion for Marquis Los Cabos Beach, Golf, Spa and Casitas Resort. It became the first establishment in the state of Baja California Sur to be awarded the prestigious Distintivo T (Distinctive T) by the Tequila Regulating Council (Consejo Regulador del Tequila). Ella Messerli, General Manager of Marquis Los Cabos, was presented with the Golden Agave (highest) category of this award by C. Ing. Narciso Agundez Montaño, Governor of Baja California Sur.
On February 27, 2007 seven more Los Cabos establishments were given the award––Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos Resort, Hotel Finisterra, Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort and Spa, Mi Casa Restaurant, Los Garcia Restaurante, Cabo Wabo Cantina and Tequila Factory Store Casa Cofradia.
Distintivo T was created in 2003 by the Tequila Regulating Council and the National Chamber of Tequila Industry with a premise of spreading the authentic culture of tequila and promoting the denomination of origin of the Tequila, Jalisco region.
