Sushi Time Fish Report to February 12
Sushi Time Fish Report for the Week of February 7th thru the 12th, 2014
Windy conditions for most of the week, but has slowed and its not to bad now, the fishing reflected it as well, with an average temperature of 85º F, with partly cloudy skies and an average water temperature of 70º F, cool water temperatures over the last 2 weeks has definitely slowed fishing, especially the Dorado. This is to be expected as we can’t have great fishing all the time. Luckily when the cool water comes in we can expect the Yellowtail and Sierra. A slow week with 30 fishing trips provided by Sushi Time Sport Fishing, we had a 70% effectiveness catching fish, with just 6 Striped Marlin caught, this week and only 26+ dorado, but what keeps saving the day from getting skunked are the Spanish Mackerel, Bonita’s and Skip Jacks which keep our rods bent. The action encountered this week took place on the pacific side, where we landed some of the strippers and also the dorados. The Sea of Cortez from Chileno to Cabeza de Ballena provided slow action for small game fish including a few Rooster. This week fish hitting our lines was mostly on live bait.
Hopefully next week weather conditions keep improving so we can have better fishing.
Lord help me to catch, a fish so large, that even I, in the tell of it, never need to lie…
