Sushi Time Fish Report to February 6
Sushi Time Fish Report for the Week of February 1st thru the 6th 2014
The week started off in a regular winter way with, an average temperature of 79º F, with partly cloudy skies and an average water temperature of 74º F, quite a bit of wind making it bouncy and rough on the waters. The fishing reflected it as well. A much slower week with 29 fishing trips provided by Sushi Time Sport Fishing, we had a very low 75.86% effectiveness catching fish, action completely slows down with very few Mahi Mahi and even fewer bill fish with just eight Striped Marlin caught, four being released and with an 50% of our catches being dorado, what keeps saving the day are the Spanish Mackerel, Bonita’s and Skip Jacks biting in the Sunset Beach area providing great fun and saving the day from getting skunked. The minimum action encountered this week took place on the pacific side, where we landed some of the strippers we also we worked our way down to the Sea of Cortez from Chileno to Cabeza de Ballena where we found some small game fish including a few Rooster. This week fish hitting our lines was mostly on live bait. This week If you where looking for some sunshine and some fishing action, it was fine, but if you were searching for flat waters and quality fish, this week was frustrating.
Hopefully next week weather conditions improve so we can have better fishing.
Anglers of the week, Gerardo and Rafa with 130 lbs Striped Marlin caught with Capt. Armando @ Sushi Time I.
Hooking a fish is one thing……. Getting them on the boat is a test of wills, good tackle, experience and good luck!
