The second tropical storm of the 2012 hurricane season has been named in the eastern Pacific Ocean.

Tropical Storm Bud is building down the western coast of mainland Mexico, about 600 miles south of Manzanillo. Maximum sustained winds have increased to 40 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center, with additional strengthening expected during the next couple of days. There is a possibility of Bud turning into a hurricane on Wednesday.

The projected path will lead the storm onto shore well away from Los Cabos. There are no coastal warnings or advisories in effect.

The Los Cabos area, meanwhile, continues a warming trend, with high temps of 95 forecast for the next three days. If you are going to be out and about, don’t forget to stay hydrated.
