Cabo Lounge Bar, Cabo San Lucas

Cabo Lounge is a favorite among locals, as well as budget-savvy travelers who appreciate the affordable food and drink prices, free Wi-Fi, and free phone calls to the United States and Canada. Owner and bartender Juan Quesada took over Cabo Lounge in 2009, and he has transformed it into one of the best sports bars in Los Cabos, with five large flat-screen televisions and all the major sporting events. The downtown bar draws large crowds for NFL games in season, and it also showcases hockey games, boxing matches, MMA fights, and Mexican soccer matches. Live music is also featured several times per week, with frequent appearances by former Cabo Wabo house band guitarist Brian Flynn and friends. Flynn is a dynamic guitarist, and his appearances at the Lounge frequently turn into large group efforts, with various area musicians showing up to jam.

Free bowls of popcorn are one of the bar’s most charming amenities, and value-conscious visitors will enjoy the $1 U.S. food menu, which includes chicken wings, corn dogs, and personal pizzas. There are two computer stations, and Internet access and free phone calls are available with the purchase of a drink. Juan’s famed Cabo Fire shot is a Smirnoff vodka and banana liqueur mixed with a flaming shot of Cointreau, which is served with an apple slice and cinnamon powder. The bar stocks a nice selection of tequilas and other liquors, and both draft and bottled beers are available. Free tequila shots are handed out whenever a customer settles up his or her tab. For those seeking a good beach read, Cabo Lounge also maintains a large lending library.
