In addition to the traditional menu, Baja Peppers is now offering delicious gourmet pizzas.

Baja Peppers is  more popular than ever and garnering attention for its new pizza menu with Emanuele Oliviero, best known for his work as chef of another local dining fixture, DOC Wine Bar.

Baja Peppers, which is within the historic Mar de Cortez in downtown Cabo San Lucas, is beloved by locals and return visitors who appreciate the restaurant’s superb combination of quality and affordability. I seldom drop in without meeting at least a few people I know, as was the case last Saturday night when I went to try the new pizza menu. I met a couple of camel trainer friends and they helped me devour a meter-long Margherita Gioco’s with tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil. The verdict? Absolutely delicious.

There are three sizes of pizza available: personal, half-meter, and meter. The half-meter will easily feed two, and the meter should feed four (unless you’re sharing with camel trainers). Options include the DOC and the Calvetti (mozzarella, tomato, ham, and Parmesan), but as with any good pizza kitchen you can mix and match favorite toppings. The pizzas are served on traditional wooden trays, with all the usual fixings and attentive service.

Enjoy fresh tropical breezes with courtyard dining at Baja Peppers. The restaurant is located at the historic Mar de Cortez Hotel in Cabo San Lucas.

The dinner menu still features all the hearty dishes Baja Peppers is known for, including Italian favorites like spaghetti with meatballs and fettucine Alfredo, as well as a terrific selection of steaks and seafood. But the pizza kitchen is a great addition—who doesn’t love pizza?—and provides new pairing options for Baja Pepper’s excellent wine list, which not only represents Italy but also the United States, Mexico, Chile, and Argentina. Just leave room for a bit of gelato to cap the dining experience.

Early risers may want to visit for the famed $4 breakfast with 3 eggs any way you like them, bacon, potatoes, fresh fruit, beans, and toast or tortillas. It’s the best deal in town, and one of the key reasons Baja Peppers has engendered so much loyalty with locals. The eggs Benedict is also terrific and goes well with a morning mimosa. Burger aficionados and comfort food fans will also want to dig into the lunch bill of fare, which includes yummy fillers like the club and meatball sandwiches and a wonderful blackened fish burger with french fries.
