The main objective of Un Refugio de Amor para la Mujer y sus Hijos , A.C., is to be a shelter that gives help in a temporary way to women who have suffered violence or some kind of physical or psychological abuse and who have no means to survive and go on with their lives.
The period of stay is three months, which we call the period of rehabilitation; this is for both the women and their children. The Refugio’s capacity is for 10 to 15 families at a time.
We also want to create workshops to give skills to the women: hair dressing, beauty culture, computation, basic English, cooking, handcrafting, and all kind of activities that contribute to generate skills for the development of productive projects or to access better sources of employment and the creation of a job market that elevates the quality of life for the women and their children.
