Rámuri
Cerveza Artesanal Mexicana
Cabo San Lucas, Los Cabos, Mexico |
|
|
The newest addition
to Cabo San Lucas’s nightlife and dining scene
has been a popular one. Rámuri Cerveza Artesanal
Mexicana opened in early 2013, and it has made a
big splash with its expansive restaurant, bar,
microbrewery, and rooftop beer garden. |

Rámuri
is a
partnership
between
local
restaurateur
Edith
Jimenez
and
Tijuana-based
craft
brew
specialists
Cerveceria
Rámuri,
and
it
enjoys
a
privileged
block-long
location
near
Puerto
Paraiso
in
downtown
Cabo
San
Lucas.
In
addition
to
an
indoor
dining
area
bounded
by
an
open
kitchen
and
climate-controlled
beer-making
facilities,
there
is
an
enormous
rooftop
area
devoted
to
alfresco
dining
and
enough
flat-screen,
high-definition
televisions
to
qualify
the
place
as
the
largest
sports
bar
in
Los
Cabos.
That
said,
the
atmosphere
is
upscale-casual,
with
first-class
food
and
drinks
as
well
as
warm,
detail-oriented
service.
Brewmaster
Sergio
Michel's
site-fermented
suds
are
available
on
tap
or
in
bottles,
and
the
beverage
menu
ranks
each
beer
in
terms
of
color,
hops,
and
alcohol
content.
These
details
are
helpful
for
those
who
know
what
type
of
beer
they
like,
but
are
unfamiliar
with
European
styles
like
Saison,
Maibock,
and
Schwarzbier.
Belgium
and
German
beer
are
major
influences
at
Rámuri,
and
the
restaurant
has
the
feel
of a
Mexican-influenced
brasserie,
showcasing
boutique
decor
and
artisanal
fare.
Visitors
may
even
take
a
tour
of
the
on-site
microbrewing
facilities,
and
if
Michel
is
in
attendance,
he
will
happily
wax
poetic
about
his
favorite
beers,
Tijuana’s
craft
brew
revolution,
and
the
perfect
pairing
for
Pil
Pil
octopus. |

Chef Sergio Iván Álvarez's
dinner menu, meanwhile,
features pub-style favorites
like burgers and chicken
wings, pastas and gourmet
pizzas, generous helpings of
fresh local seafood, and
some memorable cuts of prime
beef and pork, including
enormous kilo (more than 2
pounds!) servings of
suckling pig and porterhouse
steak. For starters, try one
of the homemade breads, a
cheese board, or Peruvian
ceviche, or dive right into
house specialties like the
Rámuri beef burger, made
with dehydrated bacon,
caramelized onion,
Miraflores Mexican sausage,
and tomato confit; or the
Rámuri pizza, slathered in
delicious pomodoro sauce,
and topped with air-dried
local cheese, basil,
coriander, cherry tomatoes,
mushrooms, Mexican sausage,
olives, and organic
zucchini. There are also
several superb desserts
available, most notably a
warm chocolate donut with
mint ice cream and Lágrimas
Negras flavored frappé beer. |
