Recipes for Margaritas, the famous Tequila Drink
Surveys show that the margarita is the most popular drink ordered in bars and restaurants around the world. The authentic margarita is mixed from Tequila, sour mix and triple sec (sweetened lime juice and Cointreau or Grand Marnier may also be used). Margaritas are often served with salt on the rim of the glass.Today, about 60 percent of all the margaritas consumed are ordered on the rocks and 40 percent are frozen. Waborita #1
1 ounce fresh lime juice
1 ounce Cointreau
2 ounces Cabo Wabo Tequila • Cabo Wabo Cantina
Pour salt onto a small plate. Moisten the rim of a large margarita glass with a piece of lime, and dip the rim into the salt. Mix together ingredients in a shaker over ice, strain into the glass, and garnish with lime.

Carylee’s Recipe
2 ounces José Cuervo Margarita Mix
1 ounce fresh lime juice
3/4 ounce Mexican Controy
1/2 ounce Damiana liqueur
1-1/2 ounce Don Julio Reposada Tequila
Moisten the rim of a large glass with a piece of lime, and dip the rim into into a small plate of margarita salt. Mix ingredients together, freeze for several hours to get a slushy texture, serve with 2 ice cubes and garnish with a lime slice. Instead of taking the time freeze the mixture, mix the ingredients in a shaker over crushed ice and strain into the salt rimmed glass. This recipe tends to be a little strong.

José Cuervo Margarita
3 parts José Cuervo Margarita Mix
1 part José Cuervo Especial Reposada
1/2 cup crushed ice
Controy Margarita
1 ounce Controy
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
3/4 ounce tequila
Moisten the rim of a large margarita glass with a piece of lime, and dip the rim into a small plate of margarita salt. Mix together ingredients in a shaker over ice, strain into the glass, and garnish with lime. Note: Controy is a Mexican brand name of Orange Liqueur, similar to Cointreau, the French Orange Liqueur. French Cointreau or Triple Sec may be substituted for Mexican Controy.

Mix in shaker with ice:
2 cl (0.7oz) CointreauTM
1 cl (0.35oz) lemon juice
4 cl (1.4oz) tequila
Strain into a salt rimmed cocktail glass
Garnish: lime or lemon slice

Hussong’s Margarita
2 ounces Cuervo Gold Tequila
7/8 ounce Mexican Controy
1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
Salt a cold champagne glass by wiping a cut lime around the rim and dipping into coarse salt to the depth of 1/8th inch. Put the ingredients into a shaker with an abundance of cold, fresh ice. Cap the shaker and shake the mixture well. Strain into the prepared glass.

1) Fill shaker with broken cubed ice
2) Squeeze 2 fresh lime wedges into shaker
3) Add 2 oz. of Margaritaville Tequila Oro
4) Add 1/2 oz. Margaritaville Tequila Blanco (for bite if you wish)
5) Add 1 1/4 oz. of Roses Lime Juice
6) Add 1/2 oz. of Bols Triple Sec
7) Add a splash of Bols Orange Curacao
8) Cover shaker & shake vigorously
9) Rim glass with lime peel and salt, add fresh ice
10) Strain mixture over ice
11) Squeeze in 1 lime wedge
12) Enjoy
