On Friday, July 19, 2019, Vanessa Blouet of Cafe des Artistes, hosted a wonderful private party at her famous father’s prestigious restaurant located within San Jose del Cabo’s JW Marriott Resort Hotel. Every guest that evening was greeted with a complimentary cocktail creation called ”Pellote”; which is made of raicilla, pineapple and cactus. Raicilla is a distilled spirit that originated in the south Mexican western state of Jalisco, where tequila and Mezcal was born.

Vanessa Boulet’s father, Chef Thierry Blouet, prepared and presented every invitee with a newly created menu, whose every dish was accompanied by the perfect wine to pair with the succulent fine cuisine plate. With more than 25 years in the restaurant business, the award-winning Café des Artistes Master Chef Thierry Blouet, has drawn from his Mexican cuisine and French influences in creating and sharing this state-of-the-art six-course meal; featuring six exquisite ingredients that consisted of 1) ”Vanessa”, marinated organic tomatoes served with Jazmin Combaya, 2) “Mario y Thierry”, a pumpkin soup served in a carved out pumpkin bowl, 3) “Vanessa”, a Basque style fish stew, 4) “Mario y Thierry”, a wellington beef fillet covered in Oaxaca-style Mole’ 5) “Mario y Thierry”, white asparagus sauteed in vanilla and 6) “Vanessa”, a sweet pear covered in caramel.

Chef Thrierry Boulet and Mario Rodriguez, have worked together, side by side, for more than 16 years, and are famous for their Signature creation of pumpkin cream soup with prawns that is served in a fresh carved pumpkin.
