If you´re ambling along Marina Blvd. in Cabo between Zoo Bar and The Blue Jungle and you hear great music, whooping, hollering, and general merriment, chances are you´re close to Happy Ending Cantina.
Just months old, this extremely casual, seemingly American-inspired bar has become the place to throw a few back with your rowdiest group of friends.
Steering away from the sophisticated ambience of some Cabo bars, Happy Ending Cantina instead makes you feel right at home with plastic chairs and tables toward the back, and tall wood bar stools nestled up to one of the longest bars in town. Although no food is offered here, that doesn´t stop the staff from opening at 9 am daily, staying open until 2 am. Not a big spender? This place is just what you´ve been looking for.
A beer will cost you just $2 US, all day, all night, and the selection includes some of the best brands possible: Corona, Pacifico, Victoria, Leon, and Estrella. Well drinks are a bargain at $3 US from open to close, and there are some definite deals on tequila to be had, too. A two-ounce, double shot of El Capricho is only $2 US, and who could pass up the 1-Dalla-Make-U-Halla tequila shots?
The name alone suggests the fun you´ll have here! In addition to a pool table toward the back of this narrow but long watering hole, Happy Ending Cantina has four tables for playing “beer-pong.” That´s right, beer-pong. Something like ping-pong, this drinking game involves the same plastic balls, several red plastic cups, and, well, alcohol!
T-shirts, sweatshirts, and tank tops baring the bar´s logo of a calendar girl over the Baja Peninsula are available for around $15 US. There´s a television for watching sports, but perhaps checking out the action on the busy strip is more fun. Visa and Master Card accepted.
