Flora Farm is a 10-acre organic farm located in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna, just outside San José del Cabo. Best known for its superb onsite restaurant, Flora’s Field Kitchen, the property also offers 10 residential “culinary cottages,” as well as a grocery, shops, and swimming pool. And, in addition to its permanent fixtures, Flora Farms hosts tours, gives popular cooking classes, and welcomes local and visiting kids for fun and educational summer camps.
Flora’s Field Kitchen was at the forefront of the local farm-to-table dining movement a decade ago, and the restaurant overlooks the field that provides its produce. All meat is sourced from a nearby 150-acre ranch, where animals are are raised humanely without the use of hormones or antibiotics. Breads are freshly baked in the restaurant kitchen, and the adjacent Farm Bar serves up fresh and delicious juices, plus drinks like the signature Farm Julep with watermelon water, basil, mint and light Bacardi rum. Sunday brunch is a popular local attraction, but the restaurant and bar draw good crowds throughout the week for seasonal specialty dishes and hand-crafted cocktails.

The Culinary Cottages are a more recent addition: 10 rustic, 2000 sq. ft. farmhouse-style homes with high ceilings, mullioned windows, and vintage style appliances and furnishings. Homeowners – either full-time or fractional – have harvest privileges, meaning they can gather fruits, vegetables and seeds from the surrounding field; and also enjoy access to the pool, spa, and a nearby beach club at Puerto Los Cabos.
Onsite shops are open on the same days as the restaurant, and range from an organic grocery (stocked with produce, meats, eggs, breads, sweets, pickled goods, sauces, dressings, and preserves) to boutiques showcasing local arts, crafts, and clothing. Special events and services are also available, to both residents and visitors. Flora Farm, notably, was the site of the wedding between Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine and Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo in 2014.
Flora’s Field Kitchen and its organic market are open Tuesday – Saturday, from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m, and for brunch on Sundays from 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Dinner hours at the restaurant are 6 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. on the same days.
