Flippers Tail – There!!! Right there!! A dancing flipper coming out of the water or was it the tail? Some of the excitement on Whale Watching tours around Los Cabos.Maybe what you see is the roaring blowhole mist perceived at the distance. Yes, either one of those three sightings or if you are at the right place, at the right time and you are looking at the right direction, you might be able to see a jumping whale spinning in the air and come crashing back down into the water.

The end of 2017 and the start of 2018 in Cabo San Lucas has been magnificent in whale watching activity, reports from several boats are similar… Lots of whales and dolphins have been seen playing in the water. Mostly Humpback Whales, some Grey Whales, but some fortunate people made reports of seeing pod of Orcas (Killer Whales) and even Sperm Whales.

Pez Gato: Motor/sail catamaran, the tour includes beverages, beer, tequila, vodka, rum, mixed drinks, water, sodas and light snacks. The duration of their tour is approximately two hours. Operates until mid April. The boat departs daily at two different schedules, 9 am and 12 pm; Gate number four, which is located between the wide cruise ship pier and the dolphin center. Sunrider: A big catamaran, two tours, one at 10:30 am, one at 4:00 pm, both tours 2 and a half hours. They offer ground transportation from your hotel in Cabo, and three options to choose once aboard. Whale Rider: Soft drink plus beer and snack. Brunch Whale Watching: Brunch, Mexican buffet and open bar. Dinner & Whale Watching: Dinner, Mexican buffet, open bar. Cost $85 USD per person, $42 USD per child. Tours until April. Cabo Escape: A big double decker catamaran, they go out daily from 9 to 11 am, until mid April. Duration of the tour, two hours. Continental breakfast (scrambled eggs, chilaquiles, beans, toast), fruit and salad bar, coffee and juice, open bar, mimosas and bloody Mary. Eco Cat: Big motor/sail wide catamaran, the boat departs at 9:30 am, dock M-O, check in 9:00 am at Eco Bar, in the marina next to Baja Cantina. Cost: Eco Class open bar $70 USD per person and VIP open bar plus buffet $80 per person, kids half price. The tour takes two hours from Monday to Saturday until the end of March. Cabo Rey: Huge three decker wide vessel. The tour is available from January through March, Monday through Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Includes breakfast “all you can eat” chilaquiles, pancakes, scrambled eggs, fruit, pastries and coffee. Domestic open bar. Cabo Expeditions: Zodiac whale watching experience, maximum 15 guests per boat, multiple boats available. Round trip ground transportation from your hotel to the boat and back. $85 USD per person, $59 USD children from 5 to 10, minimum age 5 years old. Water and soda are included. Three tours to choose from, 9:00 am, 12:00 noon and 3:00 pm, duration goes from two hours to two and a half hours. They are dedicated to rescuing whales in trouble. Tours until mid April. Big Mike: Trimaran 42 feet, two hour tour, from 9:00 to 11:00 am and another combo tour, snorkel with whale watching from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Sandwiches, fruit and domestic open bar.
