Tepehuanes Indian History
The Tepehuanes Indian land is located in Durango state, north of Mexico, up of the Sierra Madre Occidental, where the access has to be in 4well drive or mule. This tribu came from North America centuries ago.Tepehuanes means “Owner Of The Mountain”. This tribu have a reserve of land given by the Mexican Government in 1597; at the same time this people start to build furniture for domestic use with Pine wood and they have done the same things for centuries.The pine that this Indian use to build grows up at the Sierra Madre Occidental, where the weather offers the specific characteristic of humidity and rain, elements that provide the consistence and durability to this pine.
Because of this, the Durango’s Pine is the more famous in all Mexico.The furniture that we talk about is hand made in artisan domestic factories.
