After 25 years as executive chef at Pitahayas Restaurant, located on the palatial grounds of the Sheraton’s Hacienda del Mar Hotel resort, Volker Romeike, opened his own distinct Japanese style Mirai Restaurant in San Jose del Cabo. The very friendly and multi-cuisine talented Volker Romeike, began his illustrious food creating career when he was just 19-years old in his native country of Germany.
Romeike wanted a way out of the cold winters of Germany and by the time he was 22 years of age, he made that adventurous voyage out of Europe and started working in the cuisine industry at restaurants in Los Angeles and then later, san Diego. It was during this time that Volker learned to speak both English and Spanish. From there, he accepted a chef’s position with the Hyatt Hotel chain working and living on the Hawaiian Islands.
