\"\"<\/a>The 9th<\/sup> Annual Liga MAC JazzFest presented by Hilton Los Cabos and Dakota Jazz Club & Restaurant, will take place on the beach at the Hilton Los Cabos on Friday, March 22, 2013.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For the seventh year, Dakota Jazz Club & Restaurant is providing the music festival\u2019s headliner; the legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band from New Orleans featuring singer Charmaine Neville of the famed Neville Brothers family.<\/p>\n

The 2013 JazzFest experience will be New Orleans style from Bourbon Street to the bayou.\u00a0 Festivities begin at 5:30 pm with a cocktail hour accompanied by music from Los Cabos local favorite David Flores. A New Orleans style buffet dinner follows.<\/p>\n

A live auction held during the evening will feature two separate \u201cExperience New Orleans\u201d vacation packages and an original Hugo Ortega painting created to commemorate this year\u2019s event. The live auction will be followed by the opportunity to make an \u201cACE Pledge\u201d specifically supporting Liga MAC\u2019s ACE (Adelante con la Educacion, scholarship program) A $250.00 US pledge will help keep a student in school for an entire year.<\/p>\n

In bringing The Preservation Hall Jazz Band to Los Cabos, the fine folks at The Dakota Jazz Club & Restaurant in Minneapolis have once again outdone themselves. Recently seen on the 2013 Grammy Awards, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band derives its name from the venerable Preservation Hall located in the heart of New Orleans\u2019 French Quarter. Established in 1961 the band travels the world spreading their mission to nurture and perpetuate the art form of New Orleans Jazz. Whether performing at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, for British Royalty or the King of Thailand, this music embodies a joyful, timeless spirit.<\/p>\n

The Preservation Hall Jazz Band began touring in 1963 and many of the band\u2019s charter members performed with Jazz pioneers of the early twentieth century including Buddy Bolden, Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong and Bunk Johnson. The founding artists of Preservation Hall Jazz Band have passed on the lessons of their music to a younger generation who now follow in their footsteps in the current seven piece lineup that promises to have the audience on their feet and dancing.<\/p>\n

To add to the evening\u2019s allure, special guest singer Charmaine Neville will be joining the Preservation Hall Jazz Band on stage. As the daughter of one of the highly acclaimed Neville Brothers, Charmaine is heir to a rich New Orleans musical legacy.<\/p>\n

All proceeds from the event will benefit the programs sponsored by Liga MAC to help families in need in San Jose del Cabo. Liga MAC is a Mexican charity made up of Mexican, American and Canadian members dedicated to aiding low income families in crisis in San Jose del Cabo by providing basic needs, medical aid and educational support. This ninth annual evening of live Jazz music, fine food, wine and great company is Liga MAC\u2019s primary fundraiser of the year and an event not to be missed.
