U.S. visitors to Los Cabos<\/a> next week will have plenty\u00a0of opportunities \u00a0to flex their patriotic muscles. The men\u2019s national soccer team meets Belgium in the World Cup<\/a> at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, \u00a0and with a win can advance to the quarterfinals and equal its best result in the quadrennial tournament since 1930. And, of course, next Friday is the Fourth of July, U.S. Independence Day. In addition to the traditional fireworks show over M\u00e9dano Beach<\/a> in Cabo San Lucas<\/a>, many local bars and restaurants will be offering red, white, and blue\u2013themed holiday specials for gringo<\/i> patrons. Here are a few of our favorites:<\/p>\n

M<\/b>\u00e9<\/b>dano Beach<\/b><\/p>\n

T\"Mango<\/a>he annual fireworks show typically starts between 8 and 9 p.m., which allows beachfront \u00a0businesses to showcase dinner deals with free entertainment. Mango Deck<\/a>, Cabo San Lucas\u2019s beachfront party place nonpareil, is offering a beach bash and all-you-can-eat barbecue\u00a0special starting at 6 p.m. on July 4. The cost for adults is $26 U.S., kids $19 U.S., and live music will be offered in addition to the food and fireworks.<\/p>\n

The Moxitos Beach Club<\/a>, best known for its fresh seafood combo plates and tropical cocktails, is also getting into the holiday spirit with a special menu, live music, and scenic vantages from which to watch the fireworks show. The special dinner deal features a mix of Mexican and American favorites\u2014chips and salsa, guacamole, barbecued\u00a0ribs, hamburgers, fried chicken, corn on the cob, french fries, salad, cole slaw, and macaroni and cheese\u2014and is priced at $25 \u00a0U.S. per person.<\/p>\n

Other top options on M\u00e9dano Beach include Nikki Beach Club<\/a> and Baja Brewing Company<\/a>. The former is home to the area\u2019s hippest poolside party scene, and for the Fourth\u00a0is offering all-day barbecue\u00a0and other American-style pleasures from its\u00a0seaside location at ME Cabo Hotel<\/a>. The latter is set rooftop at Cabo Villas Beach Resort and Spa<\/a>, and it guarantees a spectacular spot from which to watch the fireworks, as well as American menu favorites like burgers and pizzas, and the smoothest sipping craft beers in Los Cabos.<\/p>\n

Cabo San Lucas Marina<\/b><\/p>\n

Solomon\u2019s Landing<\/a>, located behind Wyndham Cabo San Lucas Resort<\/a>, has long been one of the benchmark restaurants on the marina, notable for its\u00a0enormous menu selection and high-quality food and service. For the Fourth\u00a0of July, the menu options have been simplified. For $20 U.S., \u00a0you get an enormous plate filled with barbecued\u00a0ribs and chicken, plus corn on the cob and cole slaw. If that doesn\u2019t get your patriotic juices flowing, try chef-owner Brian Solomon\u2019s New Orleans\u2013style seafood dishes or California- and Hawaiian-style hamburgers.<\/p>\n

Downtown Cabo San Lucas<\/b><\/p>\n

For early and late celebrations, head to downtown Cabo San Lucas. Sammy G\u2019s<\/a>, a new sports bar\u2013its\u00a0106-inch television redefines the term big-screen, making this the perfect place to watch Tuesday\u2019s soccer match\u2014kicks off the Fourth\u00a0of July \"Cabo<\/a>festivities with $1 U.S. hot dogs and $100 peso pizzas (about $8 U.S.) from noon to 4 p.m. Sammy G\u2019s is air-conditioned, no small\u00a0consideration during the summer months, and it features a regulation-sized pool table and dart boards for those in a sporting mood.<\/p>\n

After the fireworks, check out Cabo Blue<\/a>, best known for its excellent pub grub, drink specials, and late-night live music. All three will be on display during its Fourth\u00a0of July bash. Jumbo hot dogs are $1.50 U.S., beers are $2 U.S., hamburgers and $3 U.S. Fireball shots are also $ 3 U.S., and two-for-one\u00a0deals are available on that most American spirits, Jack Daniel \u00a0The live music starts at 10 p.m., courtesy of Los Rancheros Tristes.
