Then, six teams competed for a purse of $10,000. Now more than 150 teams enter each year with the hope of pulling in millions. The largest payout to date for Bisbee&#8217;s or any other sportfishing tournament was in 2006: \u00a0$4,165,960 U.S.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the three-day Cabo San Lucas 2013 tournament ended in dramatic fashion, something that is becoming a bit of a tradition for Bisbee&#8217;s. On the last day of competition, the last fished weighed just happened to be the biggest. And by big, we mean huge. From her 60-foot Hatteras II Success, Linda Williams of Alta Loma, California, battled for nearly two hours to pull in a monster. Several thousand cheered during weigh-in when it was announced Williams&#8217;s catch weighed a whopping 774 pounds, a new record for any female angler in the history of Bisbee&#8217;s Black &amp; Blue. The blue marlin had a girth of 72 inches and measured 125 inches from the lower jaw to the fork of the tail.<\/p>\n<p>A release from Bisbee&#8217;s quoted Williams as having said, &#8220;This was a fish of a lifetime and one definitely on my bucket list,\u00a0especially in the Black &amp; Blue &#8230;I love this tournament and I love the people.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>On the final day, Austin Angel from Texas also reeled in an impressive 313-pound blue marlin. The Bisbee release quoted him as saying,\u00a0&#8220;It doesn&#8217;t get any better than this&#8230;I&#8217;m fishing\u00a0with my dad and little brother in the Black &amp; Blue and we weighed a\u00a0qualifying fish.
