The popular restaurant and nightspot was founded in 1984, and it has been a mandatory stop on the party circuit ever since. Giggling Marlin has one of the better mottos in town‹”If our food, drinks and service aren’t up to your standards, please lower your standards”‹and this sort of good-humored whimsy is a key part of the bar’s charm. Giggling Marlin doesn’t take itself too seriously, and its patrons typically adopt a similar attitude.

Nighttime visits to Giggling Marlin will likely include a Skip and Go Naked or two, the bar’s potent signature cocktail, and there’s always a risk of being strung upside down from a fish scale (a mandatory requirement for membership in the “well-hung” club). Drinks, dancing, bawdy floor shows, and the occasional upside down shot are all part of the fun.

Although best known for its party hardy atmosphere, particularly during spring break, Giggle Marlin serves food is all day and into the night, and the prices are tough to beat. Breakfast burritos and huevos rancheros are a budget-friendly way to start your day in paradise, but everything on the menu is value oriented. Salads and seafood specialties are popular lunch options, and like many local restaurants, Giggling Marlin has a “you hook it, we cook it” policy. The menu also features traditional Mexican favorites like tacos, tamales, enchiladas, and chile rellenos, as well as American-style comfort food staples like pizzas, french fries, onion rings, and hot fudge sundaes. And if you want to spend some of the money you just saved on food, visit the Giggling Marlin store for souvenirs like tank tops, T-shirts, flags, and shot glasses.

http://www.loscabosguide.com/gigglingmarlin/

The Giggling Marlin Bar and Grille,
Matamoros and Boulevard Marina,
Cabo San Lucas, (624) 143-1182, www.gigglingmarlin.com
Daily 9 a.m.1 a.m. MasterCard, Visa, and Discover accepted.

The Giggling Marlin Bar and Grille has been a Cabo San Lucas institution for close to three decades.
