There is an intimate little restaurant that is anxious to share its love of mezcal and good food, called La Damajuana Mezcal Boutique & Fonda. Offering a wide selection of mezcales, including a delicious signature cocktail made with a combination of Salmiana and ginger, others made with citrus rusbank.net<\/a>, mango and agave syrup, this charming restaurant opened quietly on December 25, 2015 and is slowly making a name for itself for refined Mexican fare in an atmosphere of\u00a0 sophisticated rustic surroundings of stone and glass. Starters might include oysters with Damiana, mini empanadas or flamed cheese with grasshoppers. A creamed duo soup made with huitlacoche and corn is a meal in itself with delicious homemade bread, followed by main courses such as Mexican wedding roast tenderloin of pork, peppermint shrimp, or grilled duck breast in poblano chile and nogada. To finish, choose from a chocolate dream cake or Mexican corn bread with eggnog sauce. Damajuana means demijohn or large blown glass bottle with a small neck used for centuries for wine storage.
