Mission statement:
Yo reciclo is non lucrative association to promote recyling in los cabos through education, awareness and action
What are we doing:
- ongoing campaign in the radio with one recyclable material per month to create awareness and action.
- monthly collection of recyclable materials andhazardous waste, that includes batteries, computers, electrodomestic items, cardboard, paper, plastic, etc. Every first thrusday of the month at san jose and san lucas
- we have a weekly kids workshop at wallmart plaza every Saturday from 1 to 3pm, at no cost
- we have a booth with information at the organic market every Saturday with info and activities for kids,
- we give conferences and seminars
How you can participate:
With time, money or both: people can help with their time being a volunteer at the collections, they can help at the organic market, they can help at events, they can help with designing, marketing, public relations, fund raising events and ideas, with translations, with email blast, promoting campaigns, etc...

We have given solid steps creating awareness in the community, we have been one year in the radio promoting diferent materials

Many people has taken action, many hotels and companies are joining, we have been invited to give conferences at dia mundial del turismo, congreso univer, many events and schools, we have contacted important organizations such as canacintra, asoc recursos humanos, madrugadores, etc. We have atended many events such as arts day out, dia de la mujer, dia del medio ambiente, etc. We have consolidated the monthly collection and the weekly workshop, finding new collectors in the area and contacting them with organizations and companies, among many other things.
What we hope to achieve in 2010:
Finish web site, find sponsors for our building, find sponsors for tools, consolidate a hotel and restaurant recycling program, start a neighborhood recycling program, create a fund raising event
